Courses seminars and workshops in public speaking, and public speaking coach

Scared of public speaking? Dont worry, youre in great company!

Do you find yourself sweaty, and nauseated when you think about holding a speech or in any way finding yourself in front of an audience? If so?! good news! Youre in great company 🚻
Public speaking ranks as the number one fear globally, even more so than the fear of death. Imagine that.
Knowing this; it’s safe to conclude that we humans don’t take embarrassment or judgment lightly! The anxiety tied to being in front of an audience and potentially making mistakes highlights our deep-rooted need for social acceptance and approval.

When I first learned about glossophobia.

I find this fact fascinating, especially given my own journey. I’ve been on stage in various situations since I was a small child, I sought it out. I was drawn to the creative aspect and the unique way it allowed me to communicate. My voice and storytelling have always been my go-to tools, whether I’m coaching a full class, lecturing, singing, or doing stand-up as a comedian, as a mc or moderator, etc. I’we honed my craft over a long period of time and in many, many different situations. 🎤
I have been surprised by how many people seemed fascinated by my comfort on stage. It’s my natural habitat. That’s not to say it’s always been easy—in fact, it’s been the opposite at times. I’ve blanked out, fallen down (more than once for some reason), and experienced more than my fair share of embarrassing moments on stage. But it never stopped me from getting back up, because it was an essential part of how I expressed myself. And still I learn, grow and level up as a public speaker all the time.

It wasn’t until I stumbled upon the fact about glossophobia that I understood why people found public speaking so courageous. Learning that this fear ranks higher than the fear of death for many put things into perspective and deepened my appreciation for the courage it takes to face it.

Some tips to keep you cool and calm (as much as possible).

Some tips to keep you cool and calm (as much as possible atleast):

-Embrace Your Nerves: Feeling nervous is natural.

-Know Your Material inside out: It gives you comfort. Practice!

-Visualize: See pictures in your head as well as the words—this acts as a backup if you lose your place.

-Own Your Mistakes: Just move on. It’s not a big deal, it happens.

-Connect With Your Audience: Make it a priority to have an intention of connecting, engaging with, and/or educating them. People want to be seen. Whether through eye contact, moments of humor, or relatable stories, creating that connection is key.

Bonus Tip: Remember to breathe, and embrace moments of silence, be in the moment. Make little pauses 💬

And Most Important – Remember to enjoy it!

Walk in with your head held high, and walk out with your head held high✨

Mastering public speaking is a journey, not a destination. It requires time, practice, and patience ⏳ but the rewards—improved confidence, clearer communication, and the ability to inspire—are invaluable 🚀
